Different Types of Dentures
Which denture is best for me? There may be a few different types of dentures that can work for you. The best way to find out is to come for a free consultation where we can go through your options. Below is some information to help you with your decision
Acrylic Partial Dentures
Acrylic dentures are one the most common options for partial denture wearers. Designed to look and function like your own natural teeth, our partial dentures are handcrafted and bespoke to every patient. To ensure your denture teeth appear at their most natural, we individually choose and position your replacement denture teeth to match the form, shape and size of the teeth you have lost. We have a wide selection of shades to make sure they blend in. Partial dentures can do everything your normal teeth can do.
Prices start from £750 per denture (e.g., per arch: top or bottom set)
Chrome (Metal) Partial Dentures
A light weight alloy partial denture is a mixture of acrylic and a light alloy metal known as Chrome Cobalt . These denture materials are tested to ensure that they are completely biocompatible with your mouth and body. As well as being far less bulky than partial dentures made from plastic, light alloy chrome dentures are highly durable. They can be more hygienic than acrylic dentures as well as freeing up the mouth with less coverage on the palate or tongue space. The designs can be very small and discreet and patient feedback is that they feel very comfortable to wear and use. Many patients can eat very well with Metal based alloy dentures.
Prices start from £1100 per denture (e.g., per arch: top or bottom set)
Implant retained Dentures
Say goodbye to denture adhesives, sore spots and embarrassing moments with implant retained dentures that have a bite comparable to natural teeth. Dental implants will hold your dentures firmly in place. Dental implants are small titanium* screws that act as a substitute for the root portions of your missing teeth. As a biocompatible material, the implant will gently fuse with your jawbone in a process known as osseointegration. This makes your dentures a more natural part of you. With a more secure fit, you can talk, eat and laugh freely without having to worry about what your dentures are doing.
These type of dentures are a good option for patients who have little/no bone or just want a very secure denture.
Prices start from £1500 per denture (e.g., per arch: top or bottom set)
Full Dentures
Here at Harrogate Denture Clinic, we understand how the loss of all your natural teeth can impact on your life. As well as affecting daily activities like eating, talking and laughing, losing your teeth can also lower your self-esteem. The complete dentures we create will improve your quality of life, and leave you feeling confident and self-assured about your appearance. If you have old worn dentures, a new set can really enhance your day to day life.
Teeth provide crucial support for your face, especially around your mouth, lips and cheeks. Our complete dentures will make sagging facial muscles appear more taught and sunken features appear plumper.
With a wide range of shapes, sizes and colours we can get you the smile you have always wanted.
Prices start from £950 per denture (e.g., per arch: top or bottom set)
Flexible dentures
If you find that your partial dentures are loose or uncomfortable to wear, especially while chewing foods, flexible dentures can offer you a more comfortable solution. When our patients cannot accommodate a normal plastic partial denture, a flexible partial denture can be offered as an alternative. This is because flexible dentures have clips made of a flexible material which helps keep it in place.
Flexible dentures do have some potential downsides, and James will discuss these with you during your consultation so you fully understand them.
Prices start from £995 per denture (e.g., per arch: top or bottom set)
Immediate (Temporary/healing) Dentures
Immediate dentures are dentures that can be fitted the same day as your teeth are removed. Before your natural teeth are extracted, we will create an immediate complete denture or partial denture that is ready to wear on the same day as your treatment. By working closely with our Dentists, we will make sure that your immediate denture can be inserted immediately after your unhealthy teeth are extracted.
After around 3-6 months of healing, using these temporary dentures, your mouth will be ready to have a long term set of dentures made. During this healing time, we will look after you and we are able to do temporary relines to the dentures to help keep them fitting whilst change occurs.
Prices start from £750 per denture (e.g., per arch: top or bottom set)
